Rolling Bones auf dem Games Day 2013

Samstag, 17. August 2013

This year, only two bones did the journey to Cologne and the Games Day 2013.

The plan was clear, like every year: Get up there, have fun and meet some great people.

So what can I say here? IT WORKED!!!

After a relaxing day in Cologne and a great steak with our friends from the ‘Schwandorfer Figurenschubser-Club’ and some ‘Kölsch’ we were prepared for the Games Day on sunday.

We entered the ‘Gürzenich’ and started at the Black Library Shop in order to get the limited edition of the Horus Heresy GD Book. There we met Chris Bone and had a good start in our day-plan.

From there we headed to the stage, where Nick Kyme and Chris Wraight signed their books. We had such a good time with them… Cheers therefore again!

Being on the wave of meeting great people we only stepped a couple of meters to the right and had the pleasure to meet a rockabilly-brother: Jeremy Vetock!

Followed by Phil Kelly and then Jervis Johnson. Talking to these guys made the trip worth the efford. At this point I have to thank Jervis for the game we played. I don´t have to say, who won: NOT ME!

So what we can say for sure: as long as there are such cool persons we can meet, we´ll continue to go to Cologne to the Games Day! THANK YOU!!!

And now like every year, some extracts of our trip:

I think it´s getting time to say another ‘thank you’ to all you guys that make this hobby great.
Mahalo for the time you spent with the bones and me on the Games Days and in Notts…

See you soon ;-)

Chieftain goes Nottingham

Montag, 05. August 2013

On the 26th of July Irene and me arrived in Nottingham.
In order not to get this to a never ending story, some facts in chronological order:
We visited the city and it was the biggest luck, that we booked the “Robin Hood Town Tour”. The best, that could ever happen to us.
The tour was so amazing and captivating that I forgot to take pics most of the time. BUT: we got to now Ezekial Bone! This story would bust the page, so if you want to know more, ask me ;-)

About our dinner at Jamie Oliver´s is only one thing to say: Forget it!!!

On a partly sunny sunday we explored the caves of Nottingham. After that, we had some Ales and Cidres with Ade…

Then came Monday – Warhammer World day: It was a great feeling to enter the gates after passing a rhino. Wow man…
We investigated all we could. Miniatures, Playingtables, the atmosphere and: The Bugman´s Bar
A must for every GW-Fan. I am very jealous about all the guys that have the chance to go there every day. Yeah…

And now to the highlight of Warhammer World: having a good time with Graham McNeill and Adam Troke! Thank you for talking, laughing, a great Bugman´s Burger and all the time you spent with us.
It was brilliant!!! I´m really looking forward to see you all again.

The perfect day ended with a last Town-Tour and a Dinner with Ade. Once again: thank you!!!

On our final day we visited Wollaton Hall (but no Bruce Wayne at home :-) ), then we went to Lord Byron´s home: Stanstead Abbey and finally we drove to Sherewood Forest and visited the major oak. What a great experiance!

In summary we had such a great time; we met and found friends and returned to germany already starting to plan the next trip to Notts.

(enjoy some pics of the tour in the same chronological order)
